The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) has divided Ontario into five regions; Northern Region, Eastern Region, Central Region, West Central Region, and South-western Region. Each region is responsible for overseeing environmental compliance and enforcement making it easier to ensure that companies are adhering to the regulations required for Ontario environmental compliance approvals. Within each region, there are various districts supervised by officers who act as contact for your facility to the MOECC.

Environmental district officers are also important in developing a good relationship with the MOECC. A good working relationship with your district officer will enable you to reach out for help when needed. If you don’t know who your district officer is, it is important to reach out. A link to the MOECC’s district offices can be found here.

Our goal as environmental consultants is to provide value to your operation while adhering to environmental regulations. Let’s face it, complying with environmental regulations doesn’t often add value to your organization or money to your bottom line. In fact, it is quite often a cost of doing business, but it doesn’t have to be. Our environmental consulting services are designed with added value in mind. Through identification of cost saving measures, our environmental consultants are trained to help find opportunities to make our projects pay for themselves. While our mandate might be to perform an air quality assessment, we will identify ways in which to reduce operating cost of pollution control equipment. Whether its identifying opportunities to reclaim process heat, implement water conservation measures, optimize combustion efficiency, or process automation, our team has the proven experience to help.

Through environmental reporting programs like the National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI), and the Toxics Reduction Act (TRA) our environmental consultants have gained significant insight into the raw material, and waste streams from our clients. Like the old age saying “one person’s waste is another person’s treasure”, we help our clients identify opportunities for waste diversion; turning something that was once destined for landfill or hazardous material treatment into a revenue stream.
